Founded in 2024 to gather Lagos Business School alumni resident in the United Kingdom — and to extend the work of the parent association into a British setting.
The United Kingdom Chapter of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association was established in 2024 to bring together LBS graduates resident in Britain. Its founding was a long time in the making: the UK has been one of the most established communities of LBS alumni outside Nigeria for over a decade, and the case for a formal chapter — one that could speak with the parent body, host visiting faculty, and run its own programme of events — had been put to successive Excos in Lagos.
The Chapter draws its charter from the parent LBSAA, and ultimately from Lagos Business School and Pan-Atlantic University. We are not a social organisation, and we are not an independent institution. We are a regional vehicle for alumni effort, governed by the parent association's three-pillar mandate and an elected United Kingdom Executive Committee.
In its first year the Chapter has registered as an Unincorporated Association under English law, opened a chapter bank account, drafted a constitution aligned to the parent body's, and run three formal members' events in London with a fourth planned in Manchester. A transition to Charitable Incorporated Organisation status is planned for the Chapter's first anniversary, subject to membership approval and Charity Commission registration.
Day-to-day, the Chapter is run by a six-member Executive Committee, elected by the membership at the AGM. The Exco meets monthly, reports to the membership annually, and corresponds regularly with the parent association in Lagos.
